The new addition is positioned to the south of the block, to create a north facing courtyard and bring winter light into the living space. The old and new are separated by an airtight and insulated door to ensure the thermal integrity of the addition.
2.7m high UPVC double glazed lift and slide doors
Careful selection of complimentary materials unifies the old with the new addition. The scale and form of the new building is designed to integrate with but not overpower the original cottage.
North facing courtyard with high & deep overhangs optimised for summer shade and winter warmth.

The living space connect the north facing courtyard and rear yard.
